Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or a related field.
  • Ideally with multi-unit consumer services experience.
  • Demonstrated academic or professional exposure to financial analysis and corporate finance concepts.
  • Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 79, and Series 63 licenses required within Fifth Third guidelines.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Qualified candidates will bring emerging professional proficiency, generally acquired through 2-3 years of relevant work or internship experience in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Advanced analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to synthesize financial data and trends.
  • Strong command of financial modeling and valuation techniques.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Familiarity with financial databases and platforms such as Bloomberg, Capital IQ, or FactSet.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required securities licenses in accordance with company policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise in building and interpreting complex financial models for M&A, debt/equity issuance, and strategic planning.
  • Experience conducting in-depth credit, accounting, and legal due diligence to assess transaction viability and risk.
  • Ability to source, analyze, and synthesize market data, economic trends, and comparable transactions to inform strategic decisions.
  • Skilled in preparing and delivering compelling pitch materials and market updates tailored to client needs and business objectives.
  • Advanced familiarity with third-party financial platforms and databases (e.g., Bloomberg, Capital IQ) used in investment banking or corporate finance environments.

Responsibilities

  • Build, refine, and interpret complex financial models to support client recommendations and transaction analysis.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis and due diligence with limited supervision.
  • Develop and deliver high-impact presentation materials using PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and other relevant tools.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders across Credit, Capital Markets, and other business units.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple high-value opportunities simultaneously.
  • Independently complete credit and corporate finance analysis, including risk assessment and valuation.
  • Support Managing Directors and senior bankers in client coverage, including preparation of pitch books and market updates.
  • Provide strategic input on product suitability and capital markets solutions for clients.
  • Mentor and guide Analyst I team members, providing feedback and support as needed.
  • Performing other duties as assigned, adapting to new tasks or shifts in priorities as necessary to support your team’s and the company’s mission.
