About The Position

HII has an immediate opportunity for a Corporate Auditor 4 in Pascagoula, Mississippi! The Auditor will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of audit processes, including budgeting, scoping, planning, fieldwork, assessing risk, report writing, and follow-up with internal audit clients. This role involves performing operating, financial, Sarbanes Oxley, and assurance audits across the enterprise. The Auditor will collaborate closely with all levels within the company, including divisions like Mission Technology, Newport News Shipbuilding, and Ingalls Shipbuilding, as well as the corporate office, while ensuring excellent client service. The Auditor will conduct complex financial and operational audits by examining and verifying accounting, statistical, and/or operational records and/or procedures of internal and/or external organizations. They will use data analytics to determine the effectiveness and efficiency of internal control systems and examine records and processes to ensure proper recording of transactions and compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations, corporate policies, and generally accepted internal audit standards. Additionally, the Auditor will support HII in advisory services through evaluations and recommendations of business practices, processes, and controls, and provide support to external auditors via assurance-based audits and audits over internal controls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of relevant exempt experience
  • Master’s Degree and 8 year of relevant professional experience
  • US Citizenship Required

Nice To Haves

  • CIA and/or CPA
  • Shipbuilding operations experience
  • Experience with SAP and/or Cost Point
  • Experience with OPTRO (formally AuditBoard)
  • Experience with Data analytic tools (Power BI, Power Pivot, etc.)
  • Experience with AI or automation tools (Copilot)

Responsibilities

  • Leading the design and implementation of audit processes - budgeting, scoping, planning, fieldwork, assessing risk, report writing, follow up with internal audit clients
  • Performing operating, financial, Sarbanes Oxley, and assurance audits across the enterprise
  • Working closely with all levels within the company including our divisions - Mission Technology, Newport News Shipbuilding, Ingalls Shipbuilding as well as the corporate office while ensuring excellent client service

  • Supporting HII in advisory services via evaluations and recommendations of business practices, processes, and controls
  • Providing support to our external auditors via assurance-based audits and audits over internal controls
