About The Position

This Knoxville based role provides day-to-day legal support to assigned business units and cross-functional partners. This role helps identify and mitigate legal and operational risk, supports resolution of customer, guest, counterparty, and internal business matters, and escalates novel or high-risk issues to senior counsel as appropriate to ensure consistent, practical legal support aligned with business objectives.

Requirements

  • JD Degree or Equivalent
  • 1 - 3 Years' Experience
  • Must have contract law experience (NDA's, purchasing, merchandising, MSAs, POs, amendments, terminations, etc.)
  • Knowledge of general business law
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Licensed in Tennessee
  • This position requires candidates to be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship
  • We are seeking applicants with a local presence in Knoxville, TN or the surrounding communities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day legal support to assigned business units and cross-functional partners; identify and mitigate legal and operational risk; resolve routine customer, guest, counterparty, and internal matters; and escalate novel or high-risk issues to senior counsel.
  • Support business initiatives and projects by coordinating contract intake, drafting, negotiation support, and review/approval routing under the supervision of senior attorneys.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate routine agreements (e.g., discovery and litigation materials; NDAs; vendor/customer agreements; terms; services; purchasing; marketing; consulting) under the direction and review of senior attorneys.
  • Support contract (or litigation) intake and triage by identifying missing or necessary components, including but not limited to, business terms, confirming use of approved templates, and driving matters through required review/approval workflows.
  • Maintain and improve routine legal documents including, but not limited to, litigation case files, templates, clause libraries, playbooks, and contracting guidance; recommend updates based on recurring issues and evolving risk.
  • Research and synthesize applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies affecting business initiatives; provide actionable guidance to senior attorneys.
  • Summarize key contract terms and other legal risks for business stakeholders and propose risk-balanced alternatives to senior attorneys.
  • Support contracting-related and other compliance initiatives (e.g., data security addenda, record retention, audit rights, ethics/anti-bribery clauses, and third-party diligence/KYC support, as applicable).
  • Support renewals, amendments, and terminations; track notice and filing requirements and key obligations.
  • Ensure agreements follow signature authority/delegation requirements and obtain required approvals.
