The Finance & Accounting Team at BRIDGE comprises 25 staff members across three teams: Corporate, Property Management, and Development. As the Assistant Controller, you will support the Senior Director of Finance and Treasury by overseeing complex accounting and reporting duties for BRIDGE’s corporate entities. You will lead the team responsible for accounting, tax, and financial reporting for the entire organization. This includes preparing monthly reports for the Senior Leadership Team in a multiple-legal-entity environment, managing day-to-day accounting functions, overseeing the property reserves draw process, preparing and analyzing ad-hoc reports, reviewing team work, and developing financial and accounting systems and processes. This role demands high organizational and technical competency to implement new processes and develop new financial reports. You will also collaborate regularly with the FP&A team on budgeting, treasury, cash flow management, and financing activities. The ideal candidate will have the ability to review complex journal entries affecting multiple operating property entities, a strong understanding of multi-entity environments, and extensive knowledge of consolidation rules. These skills are crucial for accurate and consistent financial statements while meeting tight close and reporting deadlines. Management responsibilities include overseeing the Corporate Accounting Manager, Corporate Senior Accountant, two Corporate Staff Accountants, Senior Accountant, and Staff Accountant. Success in this role requires strong delegation skills and a desire to build and maintain a strong team culture. Candidates must possess and demonstrate advanced technical accounting skills, a desire to continuously learn, and apply industry changes. Effective collaboration and communication, both oral and written, are essential. Knowledge of the affordable housing industry, GAAP accounting, and reporting requirements are desired.
