This is a hybrid role where interns will be expected to report to one of our Aflac offices located in Columbus, Ga for at least 60% of the work week. Interns will work from their home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Summer corporate housing is provided for nonlocal candidates. The intern will perform assigned duties under the direction of experienced personnel to gain knowledge and experience in preparation for full-time professional opportunities within the Information Technology division. They will provide assistance and work on specific projects in areas such as computer operations, programming, software development/applications, analysis, and hardware. They may also assist with ad hoc projects related to the industry and/or business unit processes. The intern will collect, organize, analyze, and prepare reports for management, and assist the team in identifying process improvements. They will continuously develop technical, analytical, project management, leadership, presentation, and other business skills through involvement in strategic projects and work assignments. The intern will receive training and perform duties in Information Technology to become familiar with division functions, operations, management skills or style, and company policies and practices affecting each phase of business. They will observe experienced personnel to acquire knowledge of methods, procedures, and standards required for performance of departmental duties. Additionally, they will participate in roundtable feedback discussions to interact with other participants and offer program improvement ideas. The intern will perform other duties as required.
