About The Position

VistaPrint’s Finance Organization empowers teams to focus on their domain and serve customers by providing clear guardrails for strong engagement and efficiency across our lines of business, regional operations, and central functions. As an Accounting Manager, you will be a vital contributor within the center of VistaPrint’s Global Controllership team. This team is responsible for global accounting operations and the accuracy of periodic financial results, with a specific focus on centralized activities such as revenue, capitalized software, intercompany and consolidated reporting and analysis. Beyond core accounting, you will help drive value through strategic working capital management, budgeting, and maintaining a robust internal control environment. In this role, you will act as a key bridge for both internal and external audit partnerships, ensuring financial policy, compliance, and control excellence across VistaPrint. Our team members work cross-functionally, impacting every area of the business and ensuring our financial foundation supports VistaPrint’s global scale. We are seeking an exceptional and highly motivated Accounting Manager to join our Corporate Accounting team. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with extensive expertise in accounting, financial reporting, and complex accounting procedures. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy of our financial records and the timely completion of financial close cycles, with a strong focus on consolidated reporting, global controls, SOX compliance, and complex transactions. As a key leader, you will demonstrate significant initiative and manage day-to-day corporate accounting operations, reporting directly to the Director, Corporate Controller.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in accounting; CPA certification is required.
  • Proven experience as an Accounting Manager at a US publicly registered company.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Thorough understanding of US GAAP.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Solid organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proactive "go-getter" with a drive to take on increased responsibility and solve complex problems.
  • Motivated to thrive in a dynamic, rapidly growing environment.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SAP, Oracle, or similar size ERP system is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage consolidated financial reporting, including in-depth balance sheet analytics and net working capital budgeting and analysis.
  • Oversee the accounting for capitalized software from inception to disposition, ensuring proper application of US GAAP and company policies.
  • Manage the accounting for unique contracts and partnerships, ensuring adherence to US GAAP.
  • Play a critical part in the revenue accounting and transactional close on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Supervise the intercompany accounting processes, including the allocation of expenses and revenues among subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy and local compliance.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting close cycles and implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Lead and be actively involved in complex accounting transactions, providing technical accounting guidance and ensuring proper accounting treatment.
  • Stay current with emerging accounting standards and industry trends. Conduct research on new accounting matters and evaluate the impact on financial reporting and proactively implement necessary changes to ensure compliance.
  • Oversee and strengthen the global control environment, ensuring robust internal controls and SOX compliance.
  • Direct and mentor less experienced team members, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed to support decision-making across the organization.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting-related issues and provide financial support and commercial insight as needed.
