About The Position

The Corporate Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing corporate accounting activities for TIME Manufacturing Company and its subsidiaries. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, maintains effective internal controls, and supports timely monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. The position manages key accounting responsibilities including balance sheet review, trial balance review, journal entries, corporate allocations, addback files, debt and loan schedules, tax and property tax filings, insurance matters, audit support, and regulatory compliance. The Corporate Accounting Manager partners closely with Finance, Accounting, Operations, Tax, Treasury, external auditors, consultants, and business leaders to ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and reporting requirements while driving continuous process improvements across corporate accounting functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
  • Over 6 years of experience in accounting and finance
  • A minimum of 2 years in a management or supervisory role
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and familiarity with relevant accounting standards, including IFRS where applicable.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA designation strongly preferred
  • Experience with corporate accounting, month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, audit support, tax compliance, debt-related reporting, and internal controls preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, multi-entity, corporate, or shared services environment preferred.
  • Experience with Epicor, OneStream, or similar financial reporting and workflow systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, regulations, U.S. GAAP, company accounting policies, and internal control requirements.
  • Oversee and manage accounting operations, including the month-end close process from start to finish, balance sheet reconciliations, chart of accounts, general ledger, consolidation, business process cycles, and monthly journal entries.
  • Review and approve journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, trial balances, supporting schedules, and financial analyses.
  • Support the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and related supporting schedules.
  • Oversee or support accounting for fixed assets, inventory-related inputs, prepaid expenses, accruals, corporate allocations, intercompany transactions, intangibles, goodwill, and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare, review, or support corporate addback files, including individual addbacks, consolidation addbacks, and payroll-related addbacks for all business units while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive data.
  • Evaluate current accounting functions and design go-forward plans to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Maintain and improve systems and procedures for the effective management of accounting operations.
  • Help establish a comprehensive set of accounting policies and procedures and drive compliance across applicable functions.
  • Lead or support corporate federal and state tax filings, including annual tax filings, franchise tax filings, and other compliance-related matters.
  • Coordinate quarterly estimated tax payments to the states, including online payments or voucher preparation and check requests when applicable.
  • Coordinate property tax filings and ensure related reports and supporting data are complete and accurate, including removal or review of intercompany transactions when applicable.
  • Support compliance matters, including state and county notices, annual filings, franchise tax matters, ad hoc incoming mail or notices, and coordination with external service providers such as CT Corporation.
  • Review and support debt-related schedules, including debt roll forwards and loan schedules.
  • Support insurance renewals and other insurance-related accounting, reporting, or compliance matters.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and management reporting initiatives.
  • Collaborate with department heads during the annual budgeting process and provide timely financial information to support decision-making.
  • Monitor financial trends, cash flow, and budget variances, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Participate in ERP and other system enhancements or process improvement projects.
  • Support ad hoc projects and special requests from upper management.
  • Lead, develop, coach, and mentor Staff Accountants, Senior Accountants, and other accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Provide guidance and training to team members, including support for questions, concerns, reconciliations, accounting procedures, and professional development.
  • Supervise day-to-day activities to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency in financial operations.
  • Coordinate and support external audit requests, including preparation of schedules and timely responses to auditor inquiries.
  • Stay abreast of changes in accounting regulations and standards, ensuring compliance and recommending adjustments as needed.
  • Support the design, implementation, and continued execution of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
  • Monitor, maintain, and improve internal controls, accounting processes, reconciliations, and reporting procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial information and support decision-making on a timely basis.
  • Work cross-functionally with Accounting, Finance, Operations, Tax, Treasury, external auditors, consultants, and other business partners.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
