About The Position

Mechanical Dynamics & Analysis (MD&A) is seeking a highly motivated summer intern to assist our corporate accounting team in Latham, NY. This role will involve day-to-day functions and special projects to support all business divisions. The intern will gain broad experience in accounting and business administration within a fast-paced team environment. This internship is an opportunity starting Spring 2027, continuing through the summer and potentially the next school year. The student will work 8-15 hours per week during the semester and approximately 30 hours per week during the summer months. This is an in-person internship experience and the company is willing to offer it as credit-bearing.

Requirements

Undergraduate student in the Albany area majoring in Accounting
Entering their Junior, Senior or Masters year
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint

Apply critical thinking skills by identifying and analyzing accounting issues using relevant accounting frameworks.

Responsibilities

Assist in tracking job costs to ensure all information is accurate prior to billing the customer
Verify & Reconcile hours worked on a job, travel expenses and other expendables
Review proposal & contract information to gather rates and agreed upon terms
Prepare Time & Material invoices to assist operations managers and controllers
Compile, Analyze & Post Payroll Journal Entries for the Labor division
Data analysis projects which include analysis, research, and reporting of information for internal uses
Assist in the documentation and execution of internal controls
Special projects as needed
Help drive efficiency within the company through process improvement and automation
