The State of Maine Judicial Branch is seeking motivated law enforcement officers or individuals with a minimum of Phase 1 pre-service training to join their team. The Office of Judicial Marshals is a law enforcement agency responsible for ensuring the safety and security of judges, court staff, jurors, witnesses, court participants, and the public within the court system. This position involves supervising Deputy Judicial Marshals in the absence of a Sergeant, providing a safe and secure environment for court proceedings, and acting as the first line of defense for the court system through entry screening. Corporals must be prepared to handle intense emotional situations and potential physical confrontations, and may need to travel and work in different locations with short notice, including nights and weekends. The role assists the Sergeant in coordinating judicial marshal services, including trials, emergency procedures, courthouse safety, security training, threat assessment, health and safety, and inter-agency coordination.
