About The Position

The Corporate Manager -Space Planning & Analysis is responsible for managing the plan-o-gram process for customers and provides support in developing tactical and strategic plans, insights, and tools for sales divisions within UNITED.

Requirements

  • Minimum age 18 years old

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or 5 years or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three (3+) years previous space planning analyst experience for a retailer or DSD manufacturer/supplier.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions
  • Strong understanding of bottler and retailer economics
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Advanced skill level in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Word)
  • Advanced skill level with JDA space planning software including planogram generation, custom reporting, print layouts, and script writing/formula generation
  • Firm grasp of space planning methodologies
  • Ability to adapt to change and learn new skills as required
  • Commitment to personal development and continuous self-improvement
  • Ability to effectively manage time and multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to work with autonomy as well as collaboratively with team members

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with syndicated data preferred
  • Previous experience with the category captain process in space planning preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to retail stores and collect survey data for the reset process when required

Responsibilities

  • Leverages space planning system (JDA software, internal tools, and space methodologies) to create and manage plan- o-grams that are efficient for divisions to execute, and which meet UNITED standards, retailer, and consumer needs.
  • Accountable for all aspects of the space planning process including store surveys, plan-o-gram preparation, data management, SKU assortment, category mix, new item introductions, deletions, and reporting/layout deliverables to the customer
  • Support and integrate segmentation strategy across customers and channels
  • Maintain image library to ensure latest products are available for use in software
  • Lead on managing key account projects across channels including coordination with retailers, other suppliers, and bottlers as required
  • Analyze and process large volumes of data from a variety of internal and external sources including customer, supplier, and syndicated data
  • Draw insights and develop selling tactics along with reporting from data sources for the purposes of optimizing UNITED space and providing selling support to sales centers for use with the customer
  • Manage project timelines to keep all required participants updated and on schedule for merchandising initiatives and projects
  • Lead and manage the category captain process for participating retailers and suppliers
  • Assist in the development of strategic and tactical space management plans across relevant business channels and trade areas for the UNITED Ownership
  • Interact directly with sales teams and our customers supporting key space initiatives
  • Create and perform maintenance of space planning schedule and calendar
  • Provide space planning support to other space planners
  • Participate in review of category strategies and SKU analysis for the ownership
  • Performs appropriate duties as assigned by management
