About The Position

The Core Shopman plays a critical role in the manufacturing and production process by preparing, assembling, and maintaining cores used in metal casting operations. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a foundry or manufacturing environment, preferably in core making or related processes.
  • Basic understanding of reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Ability to operate hand tools and core-making machinery safely and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Nice To Haves

  • Formal training or certification in foundry technology or metal casting processes.
  • Experience with automated core-making equipment and computer-aided manufacturing systems.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations specific to foundry operations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assemble sand cores according to detailed blueprints and work orders.
  • Operate core-making machines and hand tools to shape and finish cores accurately.
  • Inspect cores for defects and dimensional accuracy, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the core shop area to promote safety and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with foundry personnel to troubleshoot core-related issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage inventory of core-making materials and report supply needs to supervisors.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment during all operations.
