About The Position

The Core Material Handling Specialist is responsible for managing core shipments from vendors and customers, ensuring accuracy in part numbers and quantities. This role involves unpacking, stocking, organizing, and packaging cores for returns, processing orders, and assisting with inventory verification. The specialist will also transport products between facilities, help secure warehouse contents, and maintain a safe working environment by adhering to OSHA requirements. Additionally, this position operates within the Diesel Forward quality management system, assists colleagues, provides feedback on system improvements, and processes core returns and customer credits. Communication with customers via email is also a key part of the role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Forklift operator certification (training provided on-site if needed).
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Well organized.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Solid math skills.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook experience required.
  • Ability to lift up to fifty pounds on a regular basis and up to one hundred pounds occasionally.

Nice To Haves

  • Microsoft Outlook experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive core shipments from vendors and customers, verifying correct part numbers and quantities.
  • Unpack and stock material in correct locations.
  • Organize and package cores for vendor returns, assuring correct item number and quantity.
  • Package returns to minimize damage during shipment.
  • Process orders using the required delivery method in a timely manner.
  • Assist with receiving and verifying inventory as needed.
  • Transport product between Windsor facilities as needed.
  • Assist warehouse personnel in securing warehouse contents against loss.
  • Ensure personal safety and the safety of others by following OSHA mandated requirements.
  • Inform the Material Handling Team Leader of any dangerous behaviors in the workplace.
  • Operate in conformance with the requirements of the Diesel Forward quality management system.
  • Assist other employees both in and out of the department.
  • Provide feedback on system needs/changes.
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
  • Process core return and credit to customers.
  • Provide information to customers via email.
