About The Position

Research and develop new technologies for product or process improvement. Investigate new materials for cost savings in production and after business award. Provide full documentation on developed processes such as process parameters, key maintenance concerns, and design guidance. Assure all developed processes meet Inteva safety requirements. Lead development and documentation of the Interior’s Technical Standards Database. Coordinate and organize Lessons Learned documentation. Assist with Technical Recipe creation and maintain baseline recipe database. Work seamlessly with our controls, equipment, material, and tooling groups to assure compliancy with their standards. Fully support the Product Development Teams for production start-up issues. Coordinate with Advanced Development Team to transition projects to the Applications Team. Capable to fully vet new core projects from start to finish and decide feasibility. Oversee all lab equipment including PM, operating procedures, and functional layout. Extensive knowledge of automotive interiors component construction including adhesives. Mentor other core engineers to increase their knowledge and capabilities. Develop test methods to show compliance with customer specifications. Must maintain extreme level of confidentiality both internally and externally. Assist in Non-Disclosure Agreements for all potential suppliers.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience within the automotive manufacturing industry supporting interior products
  • Experience working within plants and understanding of processes required to manufacture automotive interior products
  • Knowledge of OEM test requirements for automotive interiors; GM, Ford, Honda, Stellantis, and Mercedes-Benz
  • Ability to design tests to show compliance with customer specifications as well as trouble shoot warranty claims
  • Extensive knowledge of interiors manufacturing systems, tools, processes, and materials with the ability to organize and run trials and interpret results
  • Advanced knowledge of the adhesives required in the manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of automotive manufacturing techniques and relationship of adhesives to processes
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced manufacturing engineering environment
  • Capable to create and execute a project timeline for individual core projects
  • Effective verbal, written and technical communication skills including clear documentation and technical writing
  • High ability to understand and troubleshoot machinery and tooling
  • Work effectively in a team environment and mentor other team members
  • Ability to travel 20% domestically and internationally for supplier visits and trials in Inteva’s manufacturing plants in the U.S. and Mexico
