About The Position

This is a vacant Core French Circuit position at West Highlands School, part of the Chignecto Family. The assignment is split: 50% at West Highlands School, 30% at Northport Consolidated, and 20% at Wallace Consolidated. The position is for the full academic year, from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027. Requirements

• Bachelor of Education Degree
• French Second Language Methodology
• Minimum Advanced French Proficiency (as verified by the OPI instrument)
• Teaching methods courses at corresponding levels (Grades 4 to 6 Core French requires Elementary methodologies, Grades 7 to 12 Core French requires Secondary methodologies)
• Elementary Endorsation, or a minimum of 3 years teaching in an Elementary setting, or deemed qualified by the Teacher Qualifications Chart
• Ability to effectively deal with situations that are likely to arise (demonstrated through interview)
• External applicants must meet a minimum threshold of 70% in ability assessment
• Successful applicants will be required to provide a Child Abuse Registry Check and a Criminal Records Check/Vulnerable Sector Check prior to commencing employment
