The Media, Graphics & Compute Technologies (MGC) is at the center of audio, video and graphics support in Apple's innovative products, including the HomePod, Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Apple TV. MGC's Audio team provides the audio foundation for various high profile features like Spatial Audio, Siri, FaceTime, media capture, and playback.

Requirements

• Excellent software design/programming skills in C++
• Solid understanding of object-oriented methodologies, multi-threaded programming and operating systems concepts
• Experience with digital audio programming and solid debugging skills

Nice To Haves

• BS or MS in CS, EE, or related experience.
• At least two years of experience working in a collaborative software development environment.

Responsibilities

• Developing and debugging audio system software for all of Apple's platforms.
• Focusing on the way audio is routed through the system, ensuring that any connected devices can be used to their full potential within the complex and feature-rich audio system.
• Working across the full spectrum of audio experiences — from FaceTime calls to Siri interactions to media playback — across a wide range of connected accessories including HDMI, USB audio, and Bluetooth.
• Developing the software that is responsible for both running the audio hardware as well as exposing new audio features and capabilities throughout the system.
• Close collaboration with hardware driver teams and various Apple technologies including Siri, AirPods, FaceTime, and AirPlay.
