About The Position

As Copywriter, you will be responsible for creating and editing written content across MC Media platforms, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with the Mercy Culture voice and values. This role requires excellence in writing, attention to detail, and a commitment to representing the heart of Mercy Culture leadership in every piece of communication.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in copywriting, editing, or content development (preferably in a ministry or media setting).
  • Strong command of grammar, spelling, and AP/Chicago style with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt writing style and tone to align with Mercy Culture’s Voice Guide and the unique voices of leadership.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Outlook, and digital collaboration platforms such as Slack, Notion, and Monday.com.
  • Strong communication, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and commitment to representing Mercy Culture’s values of scripture, justice, honor, holiness, and leadership.
  • Agreement with and active lifestyle alignment to the full culture of Mercy Culture Church.
  • Membership: To be employed at Mercy Culture Church, you must be a member of the church or be willing to become a member upon hire.

  • Experience with publishing tools (e.g., YouVersion, social platforms, content management systems) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create show notes for the Spiritual Leadership and Holy Disruption podcasts, ensuring alignment with Mercy Culture’s voice and values.
  • Conduct research for podcasts, sermon preparation, and related projects to provide accurate and relevant content support.
  • Lead the weekly Sunday Notes meeting, as well as additional meetings for conferences and special services.
  • Proofread, edit, and update weekly sermon notes for Fort Worth Campus services, maintaining accuracy and consistency.
  • Provide editorial support for conference notes, including proofreading and content refinement.
  • Collaborate with MC Media and Production teams to ensure weekly notes are finalized, formatted, and ready for Sunday services.
  • Upload weekly sermon notes into YouVersion, ensuring timely and error-free publication.
  • Support MC Publishing with editing, reading, and writing tasks as needed.
  • Assist MC Media with various copywriting assignments, including social media, promotional materials, and special campaigns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall mission and vision of MC Media.
