About The Position

GSM Studios is looking for a team member capable of investing in complex storytelling to conduct thematic research and organize the content elements necessary for the development of captivating, coherent, and rigorous exhibitions. This role supports a content designer and collaborates with clients, curators, and other experts to research and validate exhibition information. This research may include: factual research and data review; communication and coordination of collection assets or information provided by the client; identification of reliable research sources; iconographic research and collaboration with archival services; as well as other research or coordination tasks supporting content development and production. In addition, this person will organize and track content elements, draft meeting minutes, and work with databases of texts, images, and artifacts to ensure information is accurate and up-to-date. The content coordinator may be called upon to schedule content meetings and ensure smooth communication between the design team and the client. Reporting to the creative director, the content coordinator will join a multidisciplinary team and work closely with designers developing 3D, graphic, interactive, and media elements to create ambitious and impactful exhibitions. The content coordinator is invited to support the development of stories, graphics, and exhibition elements that will be presented to the public during their visit.

Requirements

  • DEC in Museology OR Bachelor's degree in Humanities/Communication OR DEC in Documentation / Information Management.
  • Three or more years of work experience in the development of museum exhibitions, educational programs, documentaries, journalism, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with Google or Microsoft suites.
  • Fluency in English and French.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Adobe suite, Miro, and Airtable is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the content designer to support the development of exhibition narratives.
  • Conduct research on exhibition content to identify stories, sources, assets, and facts, with an emphasis on using reliable sources.
  • Coordinate the exhibition content development process between the client and the team, including taking notes, follow-ups, and maintaining good communication.
  • Support and track the selection of artifacts and iconography for the exhibition, in collaboration with the client and the design team.
  • Participate in the search for assets for media and interactive elements.
  • Coordinate and follow up on content development throughout the production phase with media producers, graphic designers, translators, writers, and other consultants involved.
