Requirements

  • College diploma (DEC) in Occupational Health and Safety or a related technical field
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety laws and regulations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong computer skills
  • Bilingualism (French and English), both spoken and written: Given the diversity of our team and the need to communicate with local, national, and international clients and partners, proficiency in both French and English is required
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment and meet deadlines
  • Strong autonomy, attention to detail, and rigor
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new applications and technologies
  • Demonstrated motivational and collaborative leadership

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the leadership team and employees to promote a strong occupational health and safety culture
  • Organize and lead Health and Safety Committee meetings and follow up on corrective actions
  • Participate in the management of workplace incident and accident claims
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and site visits to verify compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and procedures
  • Participate in the implementation and continuous improvement of health, safety, environment, and security (HSES) programs
  • Support and advise managers and employees on HSES matters
  • Monitor occupational health and safety, environmental, and security management systems
  • Serve as the main point of contact with CNESST and regulatory agencies
  • Conduct or coordinate investigations and analyses of incidents, accidents, and non-conformities
  • Develop, update, and test emergency response plans
  • Identify risks and recommend preventive solutions tailored to operational needs
  • Track corrective and preventive actions
  • Develop and deliver health and safety training programs
  • Establish performance indicators and prepare monitoring reports
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the environmental action plan
  • Ensure compliance with environmental requirements and standards applicable to port operations
  • Contribute to maintaining and improving performance under the Green Marine program
  • Perform any other related duties
