About The Position

Artelia Canada is seeking a Coordinator of Auxiliary Facilities to join their Water sector team, focusing on environmental infrastructure. This role involves working on design mandates for wastewater treatment plants, drinking water treatment plants, biomethanization facilities, biofuel plants, and residual materials management and treatment infrastructure. The individual will be responsible for designing or adapting the "balance of plant" for these infrastructures and providing technical assistance during monitoring. The position is part of a multidisciplinary team serving municipal, industrial, and mining sectors across Quebec and Canada. Depending on experience, there's an opportunity to act as a Project Manager or Project Director for these environmental infrastructure projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent with an industrial profile.
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in industrial building mechanics.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, codes (CNB notably), standards (NFPA-820 – asset), design guides, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of collaborative BIM/Revit approaches.
  • Proficiency in Office/Microsoft 365 suite.
  • Very good command of French (spoken and written); bilingualism (asset).
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate engineering activities for various disciplines involved and the work of technicians and draftsmen assigned to projects for all auxiliary facilities related to water or residual materials treatment processes.
  • Primarily prepare for the building mechanics discipline: design criteria, sizing calculations, technical equipment specifications, equipment lists, construction cost estimates, among others, for HVAC, plumbing, and automatic regulation disciplines, as well as other disciplines with the project manager and process manager based on prior experience.
  • Possibility to participate in design projects on collaborative platforms and/or BIM projects.
  • Draft studies on obsolescence or upgrading of mechanical equipment in industrial and municipal wastewater treatment facilities, drinking water treatment, and pumping stations.
  • Provide technical assistance during work supervision to validate compliance with technical specifications and plans and specifications.
  • Interact with a wide variety of public and private clients in several regions.
  • Manage the administrative aspects of assigned mandates, including communication with clients and stakeholders, project schedule development, budget monitoring, and technical coordination.
