About The Position

Lifeline Community Services is seeking a bilingual (Spanish/English) VITA Coordinator to support our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. This position plays a key role in coordinating tax preparation services, supporting volunteers, assisting clients, and ensuring compliance with IRS guidelines. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Fluent in both Spanish and English.
Customer service experience.
Valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance.
Ability to travel between service locations and transport program materials as needed.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, email, internet applications, and virtual platforms.

Responsibilities

Coordinate day-to-day VITA program operations.
Provide leadership and support to VITA volunteers.
Assist with volunteer recruitment, training, certification, and ongoing development.
Guide clients and volunteers through the tax preparation process.
Translate tax information and VITA procedures for Spanish-speaking clients and volunteers.
Complete annual IRS Site Coordinator training and Advanced Tax Certification.
Support e-file processing and review completed returns for quality and compliance.
Ensure adherence to all IRS regulations, site requirements, and confidentiality standards.
Conduct community outreach and collaborate with community partners.
Maintain accurate records and administrative documentation.
Communicate effectively with clients, volunteers, staff, and community stakeholders.
