About The Position

The Trauma Services Coordinator serves as a content expert on sexual violence in collegiate populations and as a trauma specialist. This role coordinates trauma care within SMH&C and acts as a liaison to key campus programs and partners. The position involves developing and leading a multidisciplinary team of clinicians focused on treating the emotional and psychological needs of students affected by traumatic incidents. The team provides holistic, culturally responsive, and empirically based individual and group work. The Coordinator also offers clinical consultation to colleagues within Student Mental Health and Counseling Services and MIT Health, and provides direct clinical services to students impacted by sexual assault, intimate partner violence (IPV), stalking, childhood sexual abuse, sexual harassment, and other significant traumas.

Requirements

  • PhD, PsyD, LICSW, and advanced licensure by the Massachusetts Board of Registration.
  • A minimum of five years related experience in a college counseling center or a multidisciplinary outpatient mental health center.
  • Experience working with college-aged population.
  • Clinical experience and knowledge of working with survivors of trauma.
  • Experience and interest in multicultural counseling.
  • Strong counseling skills including a thorough knowledge of general theoretical orientation to guide clinical practice.
  • Experience and skills working with survivors of trauma.
  • Strong crisis assessment and crisis management skills.
  • Knowledge of Title IX, Clery Act, and Campus SaVe Act requirements.
