About The Position

The Educational Transformation Office (ETO) is seeking a Coordinator for TK-12 Educational Transformation. This role, classified as School Support Administrator (41G, 0515), operates under the direction of the Educational Transformation Officer and the Administrator of Instruction. The coordinator will collaborate with administrators, teachers, and interventionists to implement a standards-based curriculum across all subject areas, focusing on arts integration, early literacy, instructional technology, and STEAM for all students.

Requirements

  • At least eight (8) years of successful, full-time public school service in a certificated position(s), with no fewer than two (2) years of which must have been in a leadership position(s) (e.g., coordinator, instructional coach, dean).
  • A valid California Administrative Services Credential.
  • An earned master’s degree or advanced degree of at least equivalent standard conferred by a regionally-accredited college or university.
  • Completion of required Multicultural Education and Master Plan coursework (Applicants have one year to complete this requirement).

Responsibilities

  • Develops professional development materials (session-based, web-based, and web-hybrid instructional formats) in all subject areas TK-12 and builds instructional support across network schools.
  • Supervises, trains, and monitors educational transformation school support interventionists.
  • Identifies instructional needs, develops and provides ongoing reports, develops programs based on best practices in curriculum and instruction, behavior management, career and vocational planning, and transition between educational settings, and implements program changes in response to the needs.
  • Collaborates with teachers and administrators to organize inter-disciplinary activities promoting a learner-centered learning environment.
  • Provides coaching support to teachers, including demonstration lessons, classroom visitations, and professional development.
  • Coordinates curriculum design, integrates core curriculum into instructional initiatives, and supports its implementation through the community of schools.
  • Works as part of a team with other members of the ETO, Division of Instruction, and District staff to support District goals and initiatives, including cohesive implementation of the California content standards.
  • Analyzes current best practices in education; identifies, acquires, and catalogs programming for preview and demonstration purposes; coordinates the development, selection, and procurement of instructional materials and equipment; leverages instructional technology resources to support program integration into instruction.
  • Collaborates in developing and implementing new or expanded educational programs and curricula for the TK-12 learning progression.
  • Designs personalized learning experiences for students, allowing for differentiated instructional outcomes and pacing.
  • Applies a strong vision for online professional development and leverages open resources and District-created resources; creates instructor and participant guides and supplemental professional development materials.
  • Collaborates in reviewing and analyzing District policies for integrating instructional initiatives into teaching and learning; reviews training materials, reference guides, memoranda, and user newsletters.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
