About The Position

The Coordinator, Special Services identifies, develops, and coordinates resources at each assigned campus or program to meet the needs of students qualifying for special education. This role collaborates with campus personnel to ensure appropriate programs for all Special Education students and provides leadership for assigned special education programs, focusing on staff and program development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Knowledge of Special Education laws, state and federal (rules and regulations)
  • Strong ability to communicate orally and in writing
  • Ability to coordinate special education programs
  • Vast knowledge and experience with behavior management and intervention strategies

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in a special education area or a related area
  • Five years’ experience within special education or school administration
  • T-Tess appraiser certified or willingness to obtain upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Identifies, develops and coordinates resources at each campus or program assigned in order to meet the needs of students who qualify for special education.
  • Works with campus personnel to provide appropriate programs for all Special Education students on the campus.
  • Provides leadership of assigned special education programs for staff and program development purposes.
  • Supervise Special Education personnel as assigned by Executive Director of Special Education.
