Under the direction of the Pastor, this part-time, non-exempt position is responsible for assisting with the coordination of the Religious Education program for a Parish or School. The coordinator shall be a minister of the Gospel and Catholic Teaching both academically and behaviorally while at work and in his/her personal life. This role involves performing as a lay ecclesial minister in support of the parish’s spiritual and pastoral mission, adhering to Catholic principles in professional and private life. Key responsibilities include articulating a vision, recommending curriculum changes, assessing needs, incorporating prayer, service, and outreach, administering programs, assigning catechists, keeping sacramental records, recruiting and forming catechists, overseeing staff, coordinating with Diocesan staff, ensuring adherence to guidelines, preparing reports, and assisting with Safe Environment requirements and Standard Operating Procedures for youth activities.
