About The Position

In support of the university’s mission and objectives, the Coordinator, Pre-Licensure BSN liaises between nursing students and the School of Nursing. This role is responsible for routine communication with nursing students, assisting with recruitment, advising students, and ensuring a smooth transition from Admission to Graduation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, health-related, or educational field, required.
  • 1+ years of experience in a detail-oriented, administrative setting required.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as primary liaison between prospective students and the Admissions department.
  • Provides guidance and support to prospective freshman and transfer students.
  • Maintains ongoing communication with the Admissions Department regarding applicant status and enrollment processes.
  • Compiles applicant profiles for Admissions, Progression, Retention and Graduation (APRG) committee admission decisions.
  • Manages the distribution of acceptance and denial letters via Slate.
  • Organizes orientation for new BSN students and conducts tours of the School of Nursing.
  • Supports admissions-related events, including Preview Days and Open House.
  • Serves as an academic advisor to pre-nursing students.
  • Coordinates advising with Success Team staff and faculty advisors.
  • Assigns faculty advisors to students upon acceptance and provides ongoing updates and resources.
  • Monitors onboarding for new BSN students including NCLEX prep resources like ATI.
  • Tracks student progression, identifies retention trends, and investigates obstacles to student success.
  • Recruits and hires peer tutors and tracks tutoring attendance.
  • Manages distribution of progression-related letters, including but not limited to failure and dismissal notices.
  • Supports student progression by tracking academic progress and assists with graduation-related events.
  • Maintains enrollment, attrition, and progression records for accreditation purposes.
  • Assists in awarding nursing scholarships and manages related records.
  • Manages LINE Grant agreements and processes.
  • Prepares and collects reports for accreditation and regulatory bodies (FCN, AACN).
  • Collects and compiles data for Systematic Evaluation Plan (SEP).
  • Provides reports to the Evaluation Committee Chair and Dean.
  • Updates policies in the Undergraduate Catalog, Student Handbook, and website.
  • Collaborates to create semester schedules and maintain the School of Nursing calendar.
  • Determines course offerings and estimates section needs.
  • Works with the Registrar to ensure schedule accuracy.
  • Coordinates final exam scheduling and lab reservations.
  • Records and files minutes for APRG Committee and faculty meetings.
  • Collects and disseminates records of school events and achievements.
  • Manages the student workers to include hiring, training and scheduling.
  • Coordinates office coverage and front desk operations.
  • Organizes, publicizes, and promotes nursing mission trips.
  • Coordinates mission trip logistics, student registration, and payments.
