This position acts as a coordinator between the Policemen’s and Firemen’s Board, state universities, legal counsel, the attorney general’s office, the Director, the Administrator, and Police and Fire pensioners to promote and maintain effective operations of the program. The role involves working under general supervision with considerable latitude for independent judgment and is reviewed for results and conformance with policies. The coordinator is responsible for supervising clerical personnel and reviewing their work. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining cooperative relationships with other state agencies and recipients of monthly annuities, managing internal transfer vouchers for tuition payments, participating in monthly board meetings, assisting in researching statistical information for the annual budget, maintaining program files, assisting the board with proposed legislation, and aiding in planning and directing the division's policies and functions. The role also involves gathering information for administrative decisions and handling correspondence.
