About The Position

Nebraska Methodist College (NMC) is seeking a Coordinator of the Scott Scholars Program. This program is a signature scholarship initiative at NMC, and the coordinator will be responsible for its implementation and overall management. The role involves overseeing recruitment, scholar engagement, programming, and tracking program outcomes. The coordinator will collaborate with campus partners such as Admissions and Academic Advising, as well as the Methodist Hospital Foundation, to ensure the program aligns with donor intentions, institutional goals, and student success. The position supports scholars from their entry into the program through to their completion. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Education, Organizational Development or a related field.
Minimum of three years of experience supporting student programming, student organizations or leadership development in higher education or a comparable setting.
Experience coordinating multi‑component and/or cohort‑based programs.
Experience engaging key stakeholders, with the ability to represent the organization professionally, and foster strong collaborative relationships.
Demonstrated experience working effectively with diverse student populations.
Experience planning events; demonstrated experience managing or coordinating meetings, programs and projects.
Exhibits high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to plan, coordinate and support student programs and events that promote connection, leadership development and involvement.
Knowledge of student development, leadership education and organizational development principles.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to advise, coach and engage students and collaborate effectively with faculty and staff.
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate records and track participation and basic assessment data.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team‑oriented environment and contribute positively to campus culture.
Demonstrated initiative, reliability and sound judgment in a dynamic, student‑centered work environment.
Proficiency with technology tools including databases, spreadsheets and Microsoft Office products.
Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends to support student programs and events.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the Scott Scholars program to ensure alignment with donor intent, institutional priorities and student success outcomes.
Oversee recruitment and selection processes in partnership with Admissions, manage program logistics and ensure program sustainability and consistency.
Plan and execute a mentorship program to support incoming students with current upper-level students or alumni.
Serve as the College’s liaison to the Suzanne and Walter Scott Foundation and Methodist Hospital Foundation by coordinating communications, supporting events, providing updates, and ensuring timely and accurate information sharing.
Facilitate scholar meetings, mentoring, enrichment and leadership development experiences that support scholar engagement, persistence and completion.
Monitor scholar progress through regular check-ins and collaboration with academic and student support partners; identify and respond to retention needs.
Serve as a holistic coach for Scott Scholars students, providing individualized support that promotes academic success, personal growth, engagement, and persistence to graduation.
Lead the development and ongoing coordination of the Scott Scholars Alumni Network, including alumni engagement strategies, communications, networking events, and mentorship initiatives.
Develop, implement, and assess programming, activities, and events designed to enhance community, leadership, and engagement. This includes events related to academic support, leadership development, personal and professional networking, alumni relations, and more.
Build and maintain partnerships with Methodist Hospital Foundation, Suzanne and Walter Scott Foundation, campus departments, community organizations and Scott Scholars alumni to expand opportunities for scholars, support program goals, and enhance program visibility and alumni engagement.
Collaborate with MHS HR and clinical departments to facilitate employment pathways for scholars, including organizing career development opportunities such as employment opportunities while attending school, job shadowing, informational interviews, and networking sessions with MHS leaders.
Track participation, outcomes, and program effectiveness; maintain accurate records and prepare required reports to demonstrate impact and inform continuous improvement.
Contribute to institutional priorities through committee service, professional engagement, and community or civic involvement.
