Coordinator of Safe Schools
About The Position
The Coordinator of Safe Schools supports safe, prepared, and welcoming learning environments across the District. The position works collaboratively with school administrators, staff, families, first responders, and community partners to strengthen emergency preparedness, crisis response, school safety systems, staff training, and student support. The Coordinator also provides leadership in de-escalation, restorative practices, threat assessment, investigations, and implementation of district-wide safety programs and technology. FCUSD’s mission is to ensure all students demonstrate high levels of learning through continuous improvement, transformative social-emotional learning, and engaging, culturally responsive instruction.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with school administrators, staff, families, first responders, and community partners to support safe learning environments.
- Strengthen emergency preparedness and crisis response.
- Support and improve school safety systems.
- Provide staff training related to safety.
- Support students as part of district safety efforts.
- Provide leadership in de-escalation, restorative practices, threat assessment, and investigations.
- Implement district-wide safety programs and technology.
