Coordinator of Religious Education - St. Ignatius - Chapel Point Maryland

Catholic Schools Office, Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington
Onsite

About The Position

St. Ignatius Church at Chapel Point is seeking a Coordinator of Religious Education. St. Ignatius Chapel Point is a historic parish, founded in 1662 and staffed by the Jesuits since then without interruption. We are located in rural southern Maryland, only 35 miles south of Washington DC. We are a small, though growing, community of fewer than 350 registered families, but we are friends in the Lord, generously caring for one another. Our way of thinking about and listening to God is informed by the spirituality of St. Ignatius of Loyola. Despite our origins in the distant past, we are a modern parish, gladly following the vision set for us by the Church of Vatican II. The Coordinator of Religious Education will share responsibility with parish leadership for proclaiming the Gospel and helping parishioners to encounter the living Jesus. The Coordinator will know that he/she has succeeded in his/her work if those who participate in our program of religious instruction experience being loved by God.
