About The Position

The University of Southern Maine School of Nursing is seeking a relational, student-centered Coordinator of Graduate Nursing Education to join their team. This role is central to the Nurse Practitioner (NP) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs, involving close collaboration with the Graduate Faculty Director, faculty, and administrative staff. The coordinator will focus on building connections, fostering a welcoming community, and ensuring students and educators feel supported. The position emphasizes a compassionate, people-first approach to communication and organization, aiming to positively impact students' lives and support faculty and program goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; associate's degree considered with 1 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of one year of related experience.
  • Experience entering, tracking, and updating data in digital formats.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Tracking admissions and progression data for Master of Science in Nursing and DNP programs.
  • Securing clinical placements and preceptors for advanced practice nurse practitioner students (ARNP) and DNP students.
  • Providing graduate student advising and support in collaboration with faculty.
  • Assisting with course scheduling for the graduate program (MSN/DNP).
  • Coordinating, reviewing, and revising course catalog content for updates.
  • Supporting grant application efforts.
  • Managing ARNP student certification application processes.
  • Responding to prospective student inquiries about graduate nursing programs.
  • Overseeing document and database systems using multiple electronic platforms required by accreditation and approval agencies.
  • Assisting the Graduate Nursing Faculty Director with special projects and additional duties.
  • Collaborating with internal and external individuals and teams to support the School of Nursing's mission.
