About The Position

The primary function of this position is to coordinate business operations in the Intercollegiate Athletics department. This position will be responsible for managing a portfolio of Drexel’s 18 varsity sports to organize team travel, meals, vendor payments, and budget management to support and enhance the student-athlete experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Experience working in an office/administrative setting, preferably with office finance and operations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong customer service and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of experience in Athletics Business Office or related
  • Strong sense of finance and operations processes and functions gained from work experience and coursework
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Manage team travel for a portfolio of Drexel's 18 Division 1 varsity teams, including transportation, lodging, logistics, and payment of travel-related expenditures. Specific management of the group transportation process.
  • Coordinate with respective coaches to schedule the distribution and reconciliation of appropriate meal money.
  • Negotiate with travel vendors/partners where opportunities exist to save the Athletic department on travel expenses. Reconcile travel expenses after each trip.
  • Assist with developing budgets for team travel.
  • Assist with business functions including purchase orders and invoicing for portfolio of teams/units.
  • Make deposits and assist with specific revenue reconciliation.
  • Assist with review of staff expense reports.
  • Help coordinate payment of game officials for portfolio of teams.
  • Coordinate with coaches, staff, and university caterer and/or outside vendors to provide preseason, pregame, and break meals for athletic teams.
  • Strategize with Athletic department staff to identify and implement opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
  • Communicate with university departments to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Assist with data analysis and preparing reports.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

Benefits

  • Compensation for this grade ranges from $45,330 - $68,000 per year.
