About The Position

The Capital District Educational Opportunity Center (CDEOC) seeks experienced, dynamic, capable, creative, and caring individuals to join their team. This role is responsible for providing fiscal oversight of the annual state operating budget and all grant-funded projects, preparing and analyzing fiscal reports, and assisting senior staff in budget development. The position also involves supervising Business Services and Operations staff, reviewing operational protocols for security, and overseeing center operations including financial services, security, safety, physical plant, IT, and reception. The Coordinator is responsible for the effective operation and maintenance of all buildings, equipment, and systems, including housekeeping, maintenance, operations, contractual services, security, health and safety, vehicles, infrastructure, and systems. Additionally, the role includes scheduling room use, event setup/cleanup, and keeping senior staff informed of departmental activities. The position participates in the SUNY University Center for Academic and Workforce Development (UCAWD) Finance Committee and other related meetings. The ideal candidate will foster a positive organizational culture, demonstrate strong communication skills, promote team collaboration, and provide supportive leadership. This is a full-time, 12-month Non-Teaching Professional position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited college or university; preferred in Business Administration, Accounting, or other related field, with finance or business emphasis.
  • Three to five years of responsible experience in accounting, budget, or finance related services.
  • Interpersonal communication, organizational and supervisory skills required.
  • Must be able to work weekends and evenings.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of fiscal operations at a college or other educational institution preferred.
  • Relevant master’s degree from an accredited college or university and accounting experience with Higher Education preferred.
  • Managerial experience preferred in related areas, i.e. HVAC, fire code, maintenance management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide fiscal oversight of the annual state operating budget and all grant funded projects.
  • Prepare and provide ongoing analysis of all fiscal reports.
  • Assist the Executive Director and EOC Senior Staff in developing the Center, functional unit and budgets relative to State funded projects.
  • Supervise Business Services and Operations staff, inclusive of responsibility for staff development, professional program development, performance and appraisals.
  • Review operational protocols for security with security vendor and College Public Safety, and custodial staff.
  • Oversees Center operations involving functional activities related to financial services, security, safety, physical plant, IT, and reception.
  • Responsible for overseeing the effective operation and maintenance of all buildings, equipment, and systems including responsibility for the housekeeping, maintenance, operations, contractual services, security and proper care and upkeep of center facilities, health and safety, vehicles, infrastructure, and systems.
  • Schedule Room use for Center, execute set up and clean up and attend all events.
  • Keeps Executive Director and other EOC senior staff informed of departmental activities.
  • Participate in the SUNY University Center for Academic and Workforce Development (UCAWD) Finance Committee and attend other related meetings as requested.
