About The Position

The Tamarack Institute is seeking a full-time 12-month contract position of Coordinator, Networks for Change (N4C). Although Tamarack’s HQ and governing policies are based in Ontario, we offer remote work for employees residing anywhere in Canada. Tamarack catalyzes collective action with diverse leaders to solve major community challenges - ending poverty, building youth futures, building belonging, and addressing climate change. Through our Networks for Change, we support a network of networks representing over 400 municipalities dedicated to ending poverty in its multiple forms: economic, generational, relational, and environmental. The Learning Centre is Tamarack's consulting, capacity building, and thought leadership hub, partnering with changemakers to strengthen collaboration, build leadership, and advance systems transformation. Nearly 25 years of experience has shown us that rigorous local collaboration moves outcomes for entire communities, not just individuals. Through our Tamarack 2030 Plan, we committed to interrupting racism, colonialization, and xenophobia in communities in Canada.

Requirements

Demonstrated experience in project coordination and financial administration, including processing expenses, organizing digital files, and ensuring policy compliance.
Strong attention to detail with a “results-oriented” approach to managing operational transactions and data stewardship.
Excellent organizational skills necessary to manage multiple administrative workflows within established deadlines.
Ability to build trust with diverse partners through clear, respectful, and timely communication.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience working on issues related to climate justice in the context of adaptation, resilience, and / or just transitions.
Excellent command of English (written and oral) and good understanding of French.
Experience in community engagement or member-support roles, specifically in onboarding or navigating organizational systems.
Ability to learn how organizational frameworks function and how operational and relational details connect to broader social transformation goals.
Deep understanding of the realities of equity-denied communities, with a commitment to centring equity, anti-racism, and reconciliation in community relations.
Sensitivity to the dynamics of Francophone minority communities.
High proficiency in MS Office, Canva, Mural, and Zoom.
Ability to engage virtually, both independently and in co-operation with a small, remote team.
This role requires a high level of comfort with an online presence. This includes being on camera during webinars, facilitating digital gatherings, and having your professional photo and bio featured on our website and event registration pages to help our members connect with the person behind the work.
Willingness/ability to travel, as required.

Nice To Haves

Proficiency in additional languages is a significant strength.
Experience using HubSpot is an asset.

Responsibilities

Support and deepen relationships with a set of member communities, supporting them in their work to create cross-sector partnership tables, and/or create and implement plans for transformational change.
Act as guide/matchmaker for peer-to-peer learning across the Networks for Change, with a focus on the Communities Building Youth Futures network while supporting member engagement across complementary network initiatives.
Build relationships with communities to reach modest network growth targets, utilizing our Community Pathways methodology to guide partners from idea to action to impact.
Design and lead communities of practice, webinars, workshops, and conferences (a vast majority of which are virtual).
Continually hone (mostly online) facilitation and facilitation support skills.
Navigate and connect members to the necessary resources and networks required to advance their work through Community Pathways.
Write case studies, issue papers, and stories of learning and impact to support and inspire members, inform public policy, and galvanize resources for place-based work.
Be an active contributor to the Networks for Change team and be involved in the overall planning and implementation of an operational plan tied to Tamarack’s 2030 Strategic Vision.
Represent Networks for Change at in person and online events, as required.
Participate in strategic planning and evaluation, including in quarterly reflection weeks designed to spread learning across the team and to plan for the time ahead.
Support online learning and website updates.
Additional tasks that emerge, including during quarterly work planning.
Participate in cross-functional teams and advance your teams’ workplans and objectives.
Contributes to Tamarack's Seeds of Transformation Framework and Action Plan by embedding our commitments to Equity, Anti-Racism, and Reconciliation into everyday work, using framework tools, and collaborating with colleagues and network members to advance this action.
Applies a strong understanding of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action.
