About The Position

The Coordinator, Merchandising & Personalization will work across SVOD streaming channels BritBox and BBC Select on owned & operated and syndicated platforms, supporting the execution and development of editorial and platform strategy. The Coordinator will have ownership of specific workflows, will be responsible for ensuring accurate presentation of content, and their editorial decisions will directly impact the way consumers interact with our programs.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of the streaming landscape & up-to-date with the changing business and creative trends in media
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite & Google suite applications required
  • Comfortable working with technical systems
  • Strong editorial sensibilities & strategic mindset
  • Strong data literacy & comfortable translating large data sets into actionable insights
  • Strong sense of curiosity required

Responsibilities

  • Execute day-to-day content merchandising across all platforms according to strategy, ensuring content is optimally programmed to drive engagement & decrease churn
  • Support the creation of stunt rails & pages, both manual and automated, based on key performance metrics
  • Help maintain a framework of genre groupings and tags to aid with content discoverability, algorithmic-driven program placement, and research
  • Assist in maintenance of a cultural calendar and identify related content-promotion opportunities
  • Assist with the development of overall merchandising plans and editorial strategy as an active participant, bringing forward ideas and serving as an advocate for personalization
  • Maintain accurate records of program placement on platforms to aid in content evaluation and research
  • Conduct competitive research and monitor changes in the larger streaming landscape
  • Opportunity to grow experience working with AI and data science to help leverage consumer recommendations
  • Opportunity to work alongside management to analyze performance and viewership data, discerning patterns and trends that can help inform data-driven strategies and decision-making
  • Ensure all content is released as scheduled; identify and troubleshoot technical issues before they are seen by viewer, following through until resolved
  • Support accurate and editorially sound program information, availability of content on platform, and product requirements
  • Monitor sites and apps for proper display on a consistent basis
  • Liaise with internal teams and platform representatives to resolve any issues
  • As part of day-to-day responsibilities, the Coordinator will maintain relationships across various groups, including but not limited to operations, product, marketing, scheduling, acquisitions, and third-party platform representatives.
  • Work with operations, tech, and product teams to communicate priorities, troubleshoot issues, and support special initiatives
  • Collaborate with marketing and social teams to align merchandising and promoted content
  • Partner with creative teams, submitting clear briefs to support programming collections, stunts, and other projects
  • Collaborate with internal teams and platform partners to advocate for and action product upgrades and new functionality
  • Assist in preparing materials and decks to communicate plans, priorities, and performance to other teams
  • Interact cross-functionally with teams across the organization on various ad-hoc projects
  • Contribute to miscellaneous presentations, projects, and tasks to support the collaborative efforts of BritBox, BBC Select, and the Direct-to-Consumer group at large
