Under the direction of the Dean, Manufacturing, Construction and Transportation (MCT), this Coordinator position is responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of various short and long-term projects. The person in this position will supervise some staff on a project-by-project basis, and represent the Dean on an as needed basis in discussions for the successful completion of the activities. This person will learn and follow specific college procedures while leading work teams to successfully complete work relating to standard college business processes as well as the development of external corporate partnerships to meet specific stakeholder goals.

Requirements

  • Compliance with all state, federal, and accreditation standards/requirements, as well as all MATC policies and procedures.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience in leading projects from start to finish in a manufacturing, construction & transportation environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and communicate effectively about sensitive issues through both oral and written means.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment, maintain confidentiality and resolve minor problems and administrative details.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and promote a positive working environment.
  • Knowledge and ability to use computer applications including spreadsheets, word processing, Microsoft Suite, Google Apps, and other College administrative systems.
  • Ability to multitask, work independently and under deadlines.
  • Support team environment.
  • Cultivate positive work relationships with required personnel in the College and external partners.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and team building skills to effectively assist other teams and interact with faculty.
  • Ability to establish, collaborate and maintain or supervise and promote effective work relationships with staff, faculty, and representatives of outside agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Support the lead faculty in the most complex program areas with their class scheduling, adhering to scheduling procedures and coordinating schedules among multiple locations, including specialized classes with industry.
  • Supervise the Truck Driving pre-admission procedures, leading a team that collects and maintains confidential information from potential students for program enrollment readiness.
  • Coordinate the Truck Driving Program random drug testing program in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations, acting as the primary representative for adherence to DOT processes and collaborating with internal partners for confidential assessments.
  • Develop a structured process for tracking special projects within the MCT Academic Pathway, including vetting new relationships, organizing, and reporting on status and needs to the Dean and stakeholders.
  • Maintain partnerships with existing programs, ensuring projects move forward and stakeholders are engaged.
  • Lead regular plan-do-check-adjust (PDCA) meetings with stakeholders to ensure adequate student support, quality instruction, and proper resource allocation.
  • Provide communication to the Dean and stakeholders on project progress and status.
  • Maintain current knowledge of best practices and standards in higher education, particularly in community colleges.
  • Actively organize and/or participate in workgroups, committees, professional associations, or conferences for continuous learning.
  • Participate in trainings and workshops to increase knowledge of the College’s diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Chair and/or participate in cross-functional committees and organize regular status, review, and debrief meetings among stakeholders.
  • Perform other related duties as required for the efficient operations of the division and to support institutional objectives.

  • Salary is listed to the midpoint of the range and is based on the 2025/2026 rates, is determined by years of experience credit and internal salary equity.
