About The Position

This position is responsible for coordinating and implementing safety and training programs within the district. The role involves developing, organizing, and delivering training sessions, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining records related to safety and training initiatives. The Coordinator will also be involved in risk assessment, incident investigation, and promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Occupational Health and Safety, Education, Human Resources) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in safety management, training development, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering training programs.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations (e.g., OSHA).
  • Experience with risk assessment and incident investigation.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Completion of a seven (7) year work history in the application, including periods of unemployment, schooling, and volunteer work.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
  • Experience in a public sector or educational environment.
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement district-wide safety and training programs.
  • Develop, organize, and deliver training sessions on various safety topics.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify potential safety hazards.
  • Investigate safety incidents and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of training activities and safety compliance.
  • Promote a culture of safety and provide guidance to staff on safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with various departments to address specific safety and training needs.
  • Stay updated on best practices and changes in safety regulations and training methodologies.
