About The Position

The Nevada Career Studio at the University of Nevada, Reno is seeking a highly organized and relationship-focused professional to serve as our Coordinator, Internship Programs. This role is centered on employer partnerships and internship program administration. The position plays a key part in expanding paid internship opportunities for University of Nevada, Reno students by cultivating employer relationships, coordinating sponsored internship initiatives, and managing the administrative processes that support high-impact experiential learning programs. The Coordinator collaborates with employers, faculty, campus partners, and funding stakeholders to strengthen connections between higher education, workforce development, and Nevada's talent pipeline. The Coordinator oversees the operational and administrative functions of the Nevada Career Studio's internship programs, including employer outreach and engagement, internship agreements, program documentation, reporting, invoicing, fund administration, assessment, and compliance requirements. The position serves as a primary liaison with public agencies, nonprofit organizations, startups, and industry partners while coordinating program activities, monitoring outcomes, supervising a graduate assistant, and ensuring the successful implementation of internship initiatives. The Coordinator also develops and supports processes, resources, and educational programming that prepare students to be successful in internship experiences and help employers provide high-quality learning opportunities that align with students' academic and professional goals. This role offers the opportunity to build partnerships, manage impactful programs, and expand internship opportunities that prepare students for career success while supporting the workforce needs of Nevada communities and employers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years of related work experience; OR Master’s degree and one (1) year of related work experience
  • Experience in program coordination, management, or a similar role

Responsibilities

  • Cultivating employer relationships
