About The Position

The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is seeking a Coordinator, Global Programs. This role reports to the Assistant Director of Global Programs. CSN is a growing institution founded in 1971, situated in the greater Las Vegas metropolitan area. It is the most ethnically diverse college in Nevada, designated as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) and Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institution (AANAPISI). CSN offers hundreds of degrees and certificates in 70 academic programs, serving over 50,000 students annually from all 50 states and over 60 countries. The position involves supporting global initiatives, advising students, managing visas, collaborating on cross-cultural programming, and contributing to marketing and fundraising efforts. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years of related experience or comparable experience.
  • 3 years of related or comparable managerial experience.
  • Knowledge of major trends and developments in global programming.
  • Knowledge of the policies and procedures of the College.
  • Knowledge of the following software/applications: Microsoft Office Suite, PeopleSoft, Canva, CRM systems, Workday, Via TRM.
  • Knowledge of academic degree program requirements.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks in alignment with the priorities of the organization.
  • Ability to respond diplomatically to sensitive and critical issues.
  • Ability to work as a team member and independently while developing strong collaborative relationships with colleagues, students, student services, and academic services units.
  • Ability to present and speak effectively to small, medium, and large groups.
  • Ability to travel locally, state, national and international travel as needed.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to make decisions and take actions independently for a variety of diverse situations.
  • Show a high degree of creativity and initiative.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience living or working overseas.
  • Past participation in an exchange or study abroad program.
  • Familiarity with policies and procedures for international and global initiatives.
  • Familiarity with visa and immigration issues for domestic and international students.
  • Familiarity with Via TRM or other similar systems.
  • Second language proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Advising for inbound and outbound programs.
  • Supporting students from recruitment to re-entry with one-on-one meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Advising on visas for outbound students and processes J-1 and J-2 visas for incoming students, scholars, and professors.
  • Collaborating with campus partners to develop and facilitate cross-cultural programming and events, including International Education Week and the Education Abroad Fair.
  • Managing websites, social media accounts, and creating marketing.
  • Responsible for managing work study students.
  • Supporting grant writing and fundraising efforts related to global programs.
  • Fostering a highly functional and collaborative relationship between Global Programs and all units at CSN.
