About The Position

The SPLC is seeking a Coordinator, Facilities who is passionate about Social Justice! The Coordinator, Facilities oversees building maintenance and grounds at the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) and Civil Rights Memorial Center (CRMC).

Requirements

Facilities maintenance expertise with working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and/or plumbing systems.
Hands-on, professional who enjoys an active role and takes pride in maintaining a safe, well-functioning workplace.
Strong troubleshooting and preventative maintenance skills, with the ability to prioritize work and solve problems.
Communicate effectively, provide excellent customer service, and build positive working relationships with employees and vendors.
Collaborative team player who is organized, adaptable, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrates an understanding of and a commitment to SPLC's mission, vision and values.
Minimum of 5 years facilities management experience; experience in electrical, plumbing or HVAC preferred; and High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Conduct visual inspections of the Montgomery location and CRMC building systems for proper functionality and maintains cleanliness of properties.
Schedule and supervise contractors for facility repairs as needed.
Assist the Facilities Senior Specialist and provides on-call support.
Maintain records of maintenance agreements and repairs; creates and submits facility reports to supervisor.
Track , maintain and fulfill inventory for facility maintenance, janitorial operations, PPE, kitchen supplies, etc.
Assist the Senior Manager, Administration with set-ups and relocations.
Assist with event set-up and break down.
Manage and close facilities help desk tickets through the online system.
Deliver incoming mail and processes outgoing mail.
Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.
