The Donation Support Coordinator is responsible for being the first point of contact for eye donor referrals. With moderate supervision, performs the intake of referrals, screening of donor information for transplant or research suitability, communication with next-of-kin, and the coordination of eye tissue recovery and tissue transportation. This role operates on a night shift from 6pm-6:30am, with a rotating schedule including weekends. The position offers a hybrid schedule, requiring 2-3 shifts in-office per week. The Coordinator screens medical/social/behavioral history to determine donor eligibility, contacts medical professionals for donor history, and coordinates the recovery of donated human eye tissue. They also dispatch technicians, approach next-of-kin for interviews and authorizations, and provide accurate donor history information to staff. Confidentiality and professional relationships with various healthcare professionals and agencies are crucial. The role also serves as backup for after-hours calls and provides weekend and on-call coverage. A commitment to Eversight's Mission and Values is expected.
