About The Position

This role is responsible for the administration, coordination, regulation, and operational support of school crossing guard services to promote pedestrian safety and ensure compliance with municipal policies, traffic regulations, and safety standards. You will coordinate daily crossing guard operations, support staffing and scheduling activities, and provide operational and administrative support to the department. You will be responsible for ensuring service standards, safety compliance, and effective communication with stakeholders and the public.

Requirements

Post-secondary diploma in Business Administration or a closely related field
Minimum of three (3) years of related experience in an administrative role
Experience coaching and scheduling staff
Experience coordinating staff in a public safety, municipal operations, or related environment
Demonstrated customer service excellence
Strong organizational capabilities
Superior communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and sensitive information
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Satisfactory passing of a criminal record check
Proof of qualifications

Responsibilities

Coordinate daily operations of the school crossing guard program, including scheduling, staffing coverage, and operational support
Recruit, onboard, train, mentor, and support crossing guards in accordance with departmental procedures and safety standards
Conduct field observations, site assessments, and performance evaluations to ensure program effectiveness and compliance
Investigate and respond to operational concerns, incidents, complaints, and public inquiries related to crossing guard services
Prepare reports, schedules, correspondence, and program documentation while supporting departmental administrative operations
