About The Position

The College of Science at Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Coordinator, Computer Applications in Boca Raton, FL. This position is part of the College of Science Information Technology support group and provides technical support to faculty and staff. Responsibilities include configuring, installing, and troubleshooting computers, mobile devices, printers, servers, and network resources. The role involves resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues, maintaining technical documentation, updating help desk tickets, and recommending technology solutions. Additionally, this position assists with the technology components of grant proposals and stays current with industry standards to ensure reliable IT services.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with a demonstrated commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
  • Proven experience installing, supporting, and troubleshooting Windows and macOS operating systems, as well as the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with supporting mobile devices, including iPhone and Android platforms.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience in a technical support environment.
  • Experience with Active Directory and Microsoft Intune.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a staff member for the College of Science Information Technology support group.
  • Provides technical support to the College of Science: Configuring and installing computers, laptops, tablets, and printers.
  • Assist in troubleshooting network connectivity problems, both wired and wireless.
  • Assigning users to network shares
  • Configuring smartphones and tablets
  • Imaging laptops and desktop computers
  • Developing and maintaining documentation
  • Installing and testing operating systems and software
  • Installing and administering servers and network attached storage
  • Update help desk tickets clearly and timely
  • Troubleshoot software, network and hardware related issues is a critical job function.
  • Maintain/enhance technical expertise level by keeping current with industry standards and technical trends, and advance skill set by taking personal initiative.
  • Recommend technological solutions to assigned departments.
  • Assist in writing with the technology portion of grants.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.
