About The Position

The University of Nevada, Reno Extension is recruiting for a full-time Administrative Faculty position as the Community Wildfire Preparedness Coordinator with the Living With Fire program. This position is located in Reno, NV, and reports to the Living With Fire Program Director. The Living With Fire (LWF) Program is a statewide interagency effort coordinated by the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension (UNCE) that teaches communities to live more safely in wildfire-prone regions. This Coordinator, Community Wildfire Preparedness, will work directly with federal agencies and community partners to update and create Community Wildfire Protection Plans (CWPPs) throughout Nevada. The position is funded for three years with potential for continuation based on funding.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years of related work experience, OR Master’s Degree and one (1) year of related work experience
  • Related Experience: Natural Resources, Ecology, Environmental Science, Computer Science, Social Sciences, or other closely related field; project coordination or related field
  • Candidates to complete a fingerprinting/background check.
  • A valid Class “C” driver’s license or higher operator’s license within 30 days of appointment.
