About The Position

Under general supervision of the Director of Community Investment, this position serves as a coordinator for the Community Engagement Department and assists in all community efforts, communication and marketing, and volunteer and intern management within the Phoenix Center to build healthy relationships within the community. This position involves activities that require ability to lift 40 lbs., reaching, climbing and grasping. Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels. Visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing surroundings and activities.

Requirements

Demonstrated knowledge of communication and marketing strategies.
Demonstrated knowledge of all social media platforms.
Demonstrated knowledge of media design systems.
Demonstrated knowledge of community resources.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with community groups and organizations.
Demonstrated ability to supervise the work of others.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively through both oral and written expression.
Excellent public speaking skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
Must have valid SC driver’s license and be able to provide proof of insurance.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.
Three years of professional experience in a public health field.
Relevant program experience is required.
Must be a self-starter who can work independently and is highly organized.

A Master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning is preferred.

Responsibilities

Develops and implements communication and marketing strategies for Phoenix Center and The Family Effect.
Identifies, plans, and participates in public-speaking opportunities that promote awareness of Phoenix Center programs and services.
Hires, supervises, and evaluates staff.
Prepares required reports and communicates them promptly and effectively.
Maintains knowledge of existing substance abuse prevention and treatment resources and community services.
Recruits, orients, coordinates, and supports volunteers across Phoenix Center programs through the Family Champions Initiative.
Coordinates the community engagement internship program across all Phoenix Center programs.
Supports special volunteer and donation projects for Phoenix Center programs, including Holiday Village, Trunk-or-Treat, Adopt-a-Backpack, and similar initiatives.
Serves as a liaison for Phoenix Center programs with donation-related needs.
Manages the donation center to meet the needs of Phoenix Center clients.
Promotes Phoenix Center programs to the community and potential referral sources as needed.
Maintains accurate activity records and submits monthly reports to the supervisor.
Supports a trauma-informed workplace by modeling safety, trustworthiness, choice, collaboration, and empowerment.
Supports ERI values of acknowledgment, commitment, openness, celebration, and humility.
Performs evening and weekend duties as needed.
Performs other assigned duties.
