About The Position

The Child Care Coordinator is responsible for implementing program goals and classroom objectives and performing related work for children six (6) weeks to five (5) years old. The Child Care Coordinator oversees the daily operations of the childcare center, including managing staff, developing activity schedules, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and educational standards in the absence of the Assistant Director and the Director.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Three or more years teaching in a childcare environment
Pass background check
Obtain a physical prior to employment
Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential/Early Childhood Certificate/ 18 Credit Hours of Early Childhood Courses

Nice To Haves

Associate degree or higher in Early Childhood, Education or a related field
Knowledge of recreational activities associated with creative play

Responsibilities

Direct activities for children in the program.
Supervise large and small groups of children.
Assist children with self-help skills.
Work with individual children on specific tasks.
Develop and plan daily activities including writing lesson plans.
Assists with the preparation and presentation of educational materials.
Regularly, assess, evaluate, observe, record, and update children’s class attendance, behavior, development, etc.
Complete and keep current all required certifications and training.
Attend professional development seminars and parent related activities.
Assist with serving meals and snacks.
Supervises childcare assistants, college study students, institutional workers, volunteers, foster grandparents, and practicum students.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and educational standards.
May perform other duties as assigned.
