About The Position

The Biomedical technician I is responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, maintaining and verifying accuracy of all infusion delivery devices at Jefferson Home Infusion Service (JHIS). The Biomedical Technician I uses appropriate equipment and complies with policies and procedures, including infusion pump analyzers maintenance and inventory control electronic records.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Biomedical training that includes a minimum of 100 hours
Demonstrates ability to navigate appropriate and necessary software systems unique to the department.

Nice To Haves

1 to 3 years of prior experience preferred

Responsibilities

Cleaning and sanitizing infusion related equipment returned from patient use. Includes but not limited to ambulatory infusion pumps, related accessories and storage pouches.
Maintains electronic inventory and preventative maintenance records in accordance with regulatory standards.
Performs diagnostic, functional and flow rate testing to assure infusion equipment is accurate and ready for patient use.
Processing of biohazardous and chemotherapy waste for transport and destruction by third party vendors.
Coordination with third party vendors to repair equipment that is beyond the scope of the biomedical technician.
Coordination with JHIS staff to facilitate return of equipment from patients.
Day to day oversight of part time bio medical technician staff.
Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
