About The Position

The Benefits Eligibility and Authorization verify patient specific health benefits. Benefits Eligibility and Authorization provides services to customers relating to medical billing, medical reimbursement, and/or other services by acting as a liaison in problem-solving, research and problem/dispute resolution. The Benefits Eligibility & Authorization Coordinator will support the Hold Edit Post Shipment Review team by obtaining insurance-required documentation, reviewing and validating records, and entering applicable documentation into company systems to facilitate claim processing and billing. The role also involves ensuring documentation accuracy, meeting quality standards, and helping resolve post-shipment documentation issues to support timely reimbursement.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of Medical Documentation experience, preferred
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete standard tasks.
  • Works on routine assignments that require basic problem resolution.
  • Meets productivity and quality goals.
  • Refers to policies and past practices for guidance.
  • Receives general direction on standard work; receives detailed instruction on new assignments.
  • Consults with supervisor or senior peers on complex and unusual problems.

Responsibilities

  • Processes a backlog of orders that have already shipped with missing insurance required documentation.
  • Work within multiple systems including but not limited to Grid, OnBase and RGH.
  • Reviews accounts thoroughly to ensure documentation has not previously been received and is enterable.
  • Follows up with offices as needed to obtain documentation as well as the occasional customer call.
  • Documents accounts and dispositions orders to quality standards.
  • Reviews and enters documentation to quality standards.
