About The Position

Coordinates and implements classroom accessibility accommodations and services. Analyzes medical documentation for the purpose of determining reasonable accommodations and conducts initial interviews with students with temporary medical conditions and provides advisement regarding various academic topics. Collects and reports relevant quantitative and qualitative data. Designs and implements comprehensive educational outreach for the office. Assists in the supervision of support staff by providing functional guidance as needed.

Requirements

  • Relevant Bachelor's Degree.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in working with individuals with disabilities and coordinating accommodations in an educational setting, preferably in higher education.
  • Knowledge and experienced application of federal and state legislation pertaining to individuals with disabilities in higher education/state and local public entities, as well as the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
  • Strong interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and crisis management skills.

  • Functional knowledge of accessibility-related barriers and services in higher education/state and local public entities required.
  • Experience in decision-making in the area of planning and coordinating the delivery of educational accommodations, preferably in a higher education setting.
