About The Position

The Mayor's Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence (ENDGBV) is recruiting one (1) Community Coordinator to function as a Coordinated Entry Coordinator. This role is crucial in integrating DV/GBV survivors' needs into New York City’s Coordinated Entry system, the Coordinated Assessment and Placement System (CAPS). CAPS is an online survey designed to connect homeless individuals and those at risk of homelessness to appropriate housing options while safeguarding their personal information. The Coordinator will ensure that DV/GBV survivors have equitable access to housing resources in NYC. This involves close collaboration with the NYC Human Resources Administration (HRA), ENDGBV, community-based organizations, and survivors themselves.

Requirements

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
Education and/or experience which is equivalent to '1' or '2' above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in '1' above.

Responsibilities

Coordinate the implementation of updates to CAPS to integrate PII protections for the DVGBV survivor community, working collaboratively with project team members and on- and off-site DV partner agencies at the FJCs.
Support project implementation in collaboration with ENDGBV, HRA, and project team members, ensuring PII protections for the DVGBV survivor community in CAPS align with HUD and VAWA requirements.
Engage DVGBV community service providers working at the FJCs and various on- and off-site FJC partners in the utilization of CAPS.
Develop promotional materials for DV community service providers and their clients about CAPS and the City’s Coordinated Entry process.
Collaborate with project team members to develop and deliver training for DV community service providers on updated CAPS functions and provide ongoing support.
Gather feedback about CAPS from DVGBV community service providers, survivors, and other key stakeholders to ensure the system protects survivors’ PII and meets their safety and service needs.
Partner with the TA provider and external evaluator to ensure the incorporation of best practices for integrating PII protections for the DV/GBV survivor community in a CE system.
Contribute to drafting reports pertaining to project development, implementation, and evaluation.
Participate in regular meetings with the project team to keep project goals on track and ensure effective collaboration.
Manage referrals to DV Rapid Rehousing programs, including assisting the DVGBV CE Director in managing incoming referrals and communicating with referring community providers.
Perform any additional tasks as deemed appropriate and needed by supervisor.
