About The Position

Responsible for independently capturing all expenditures by DMA on behalf of Federal/State Agreements, classifying, analyzing, and auditing expenditures according to the proper Cooperative Funding Agreement (CFA) and invoicing the federal government for reimbursement of their share of those costs. This position works independently with the Program Managers (PM) and the Grant Officer Representative (GOR), closely monitors all Federal actions to track the movement of funds, tracks, and monitors year end extensions, tracks all assigned CFAs from the beginning to the end of its financial cycle, and is responsible for performing special audits as requested. This posting is hiring two (2) Cooperative Agreement Accountants. May be required to travel occasionally during the day.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices including cost accounting and payroll accounting.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data, make sound recommendations and prepare financial reports & statements.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with personal computers and non-menu driven databases.
  • Ability to plan and organize work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Analytical/problem solving skills.
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must have exceptional analytical skills.
  • Must have working knowledge of federal appropriations law.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel required.
  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record required.

  • Prior experience with grants and/or federal funding preferred.
